Louisburg Cider Mill

One of the best things about fall is visiting a Cider Mill. Louisburg Cider Mill is located in Kansas, about 40 minutes from Kansas City. The cider mill is a must see for tourists passing through. During the last weekend of September and first weekend of October, the cider mill has their annual cider fest.

The day starts off with a pancake breakfast from 8:30 to 11:00 am. Kids of all ages get to enjoy a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick their own pumpkin and hike through a 10 acre corn maze. Kids can ride on a pony and go down the huge inflatable slide.

At the same time, people can purchase fresh apple cider, apple cider donuts, caramel apples, apple butter and their famous Lost Trail root beer and other cream sodas. The country store sells all of these on a daily basis plus keepsakes, recipe books, gift baskets and many more items.

There are rows of booths set up selling different crafts and homemade goodies. My favorite is the Osborne children books, the “Kindness Bug” gifts for children, freshly popped kettle corn, homemade jams and candied pecans. But they have something for everyone one. Booths with dog items, baby items, Watkins products, Pampered Chef, candles, etc.

Plenty of snacks and lunch options are available. You can buy a turkey leg, hamburger, brisket or barbeque pulled pork. Also, there’s a booth set up for fresh made cookies (had to buy a few packs of those). While you are eating you can enjoy some bluegrass and country music from local bands.

Great family event for adults, kids and dogs!

Look on their website https://louisburgcidermill.com/ for monthly events they have, several are just in October alone.  They including a Zombie night in the corn maze, a Bonfire, hayrides and a dark hike through the maze. Guaranteed to get you in the mood for Halloween and fall in general.
